The English Department at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra organized a discussion session on Exile and Nostalgia in Badr Shakir Alsayyabs poetry. The session aimed to shed light on the stages of the poet Badr Shakir Alsayyab's life and their reflections on his poetry. The session, presented by graduate student Omar Hussein Shihab, dealt with the beginnings of Alsayyab's life in writing poetry and the impact of the Jikur region on the nature of his poems, and the life of exile, exile and imprisonment due to his position on the authority at the time, in addition to his life during illness and its reflections on his poems, with the citation of poetic verses to prove the changes and their impact on his poetry
