Assistant Professor Dr. Hussein Shati Al-Essa, a lecturer at the College of Dentistry, participated in the Ninth International Veterinary Medicine Conference held by the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basra.
The participation included presenting a research paper with a research team entitled ((Evaluation of the osseointegration of dental implants in parathyroid disorders)).
The research aims to evaluate bone quality by measuring the levels of parathyroid hormone and vitamin D in addition to measuring the levels of calcium and magnesium in the blood, and avoiding the excessive use of proton-regulating drugs such as (omeprazole), which is closely related to low levels of magnesium and thus low parathyroid hormone.
