Under the patronage of Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Al-Nawab, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, the Continuing Education Unit organized a scientific symposium on knee osteoarthritis, which was lectured by Lecturer Dr. Muhammad Abdul-Ridha Akbar, a faculty member at the college.
The symposium included types of arthritis
How arthritis occurs and symptoms and clinical signs of patients. The symposium also dealt with taking laboratory and radiological tests to diagnose types of arthritis. The symposium touched on the most important conservative and drug treatment methods to treat it, as well as the most important surgical treatments for joint osteoarthritis.
Akbar stressed that there are different types of arthritis, noting that a doctor should be consulted when there is pain in the joints, as not all pain in the joint is considered roughness, stressing that early intervention limits the exacerbation of the disease, stressing the importance of spreading health culture and urging people to have periodic examinations to discover and solve problems early
