The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a seminar on well water, its sources, quality and areas of use.
The session, in which master's student Ruqayyah Talib Muhammad lectured, aimed to introduce the sources of groundwater in the city of Basra and the methods of collecting it and determining its physical, chemical and biological properties to determine its uses in various fields such as drinking water, irrigation or other purposes.
The session focused on determining the quality of well water periodically, as it is subject to change in its properties with changes in environmental conditions and pumping rates from the well.
