The college of science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar on the use of seismic inverse results in the construction of the geological model in order to reduce the unreliability in the distribution of petrophysical properties in the geological model. The seminar, which was attended by PhD student Jawad Kazem Rady al-Bahadli, included the use of three-dimensional seismic survey data in the halafaya field southeast of the city of Amara with drilling data and converting them using the seismic inverse technique into acoustic impedance for the entire reservoir, and through the application of seismic aftershocks, the petrophysical properties, including effective porosity, can be predicted to form the supervisor.
