Nazik Al-Malaika Library at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Department of Geography, organized an applied workshop entitled "Shade Plants and Their Impact on Improving Indoor Air Quality", in the presence of the Dean's Assistants for Scientific and Administrative Affairs, Dr. Asaad Abbas Hindi and Dr. Saad Muhammad Kazim.
The workshop aimed to introduce the importance of shade plants in improving indoor air quality, especially in closed spaces such as libraries, and their role in promoting a healthy and sustainable environment.
The workshop included a comprehensive explanation by the department's instructors on the methods of choosing suitable plants for workplaces, how to care for and plant them, with examples of the types of shade plants that achieve the greatest benefit in improving indoor air quality, and focusing on the role of these plants in purifying the air from pollutants and harmful gases, which contributes to improving the health of individuals and raising their level of well-being in workplaces and study
