The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra organized a lecture about scientific plagiarism and the role of reputable publishing for the eighth unit in the engineering specialization within a teaching methods course.
The lecture aims to educate trainees about research ethics and academic integrity, as well as to explain the details of reputable publishing and how to search for a specialized journal in global peer-reviewed databases.
The lecture, presented by Dr. Adi Bashir Issa, included explanations on how to write academically and avoid linguistic errors, as well as a summary on scientific plagiarism and how to avoid imitation and academic theft through proper citation of sources, among other topics.
The lecture recommended relying on reputable scientific journals to enhance the position of the Iraqi researcher in high academic circles.
