The College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra held a memorial service on the fifth anniversary of the martyrdom of the leaders of victory, in the presence of the university president, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazim, his assistants for scientific and administrative affairs, and a number of official and academic figures.
The memorial service included many cultural segments and enthusiastic songs with the participation of poets and singers, and the distribution of shields to the families of the martyrs.
The university president said in a speech on the occasion that the Popular Mobilization Forces are truly the backbone of Iraq and a witness to the sacrifices of those who carried the banner of defending the homeland and the sanctities.
He added that the two martyrs, Al-Mah-Nadas and Sal-Yama-Ni, were a symbol of sacrifice and loyalty, and their stance on the battlefields inspired generations with meanings of pride and dignity, and that their sacrifices were not a passing event in our history, but rather a glorious page that drew the features of the road for those who walk the path of resistance.
The University's Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Haider Khazal Al-Kaabi, pointed out that since the dawn of history, sacrifice and heroism have been the provisions carried by heroes to defend the land, faith and sanctities, and that the sacrifices made by our people in all their colors and spectrums were embodied in the greatest images, which were represented by the lofty symbol of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), as they offered the most precious and valuable things and everything they owned in defense of the homeland against the terrorist gangs since the blessed fatwa of Sayyid Ali al-Sistani. Al-Kaabi added that Hajj Qasem al-Maslamani, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and the martyrs of the Popular Mobilization Forces and the armed forces will be written in history in letters of gold for the heroism and sacrifice they offered with all courage to bring Iraq to safety and resounding victory, as they derived their positions from their faith in God and their homeland and from the determination that does not know surrender in the face of challenges and difficulties.
