The Women's Affairs Unit at the at the University of Basrah- College of Medicine, in cooperation with the Ministry of Oil - Oil Refineries Company and the Student Activities Unit at the College, held an awareness seminar about information security, presented by the international trainer Hussam Muhammad Abdul-Ali, in the presence of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Prof. Dr. Alaa Khattar and a number of college employees.
During the seminar, the trainer discussed the most prominent challenges facing the medical sector in protecting sensitive data, and ways to confront cyber-attacks.
The lecture focused on the importance of information security in the medical field and how to protect patient data and ensure the confidentiality of medical files.
Electronic threats such as cyber attacks on hospital systems and technical programs were discussed.
In addition to the importance of basic protection measures through the use of modern systems, encryption, and ensure awareness of medical personnel.
Also point to the important role of the individual in the enhancing of cyber security, as he provided practical advice to students and administrative employees on the behaviors of safe use of technology.
