The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a discussion session on oil, its compounds and its effects on the environment.
The discussion session, which was lectured by graduate student Hoda Abdul Amir Abdul Raouf, aimed to explain the main oil compounds, their types, the sources and origins of oil compounds, and clarify toxicity and bioaccumulation.
The session dealt with a general overview of the Shatt al-Arab, its expected sources of pollution and its importance.
