University of Basra organizes a discussion session on the psychological and social impact of electronic blackmail
The Department of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra organized a discussion session on "The Psychological and Social Impact of Electronic Blackmail and the Role of Psychological Counseling in Reducing this Phenomenon".
The discussion session aimed to shed light on the negative effects of this phenomenon that is increasing in society, and to identify its psychological and social dimensions.
The session, moderated by Dr. Nada Razzaq Fadhel, provided a detailed explanation of the psychological effects of electronic blackmail, which include depression, chronic anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as its social effects such as isolation and loss of trust in others.
The session focused on how to deal with blackmailers, and providing practical advice and ways to prevent and protect against this phenomenon, pointing out the importance of the role of psychological counseling in providing support and advice to affected individuals. The participants pointed out the need to increase community awareness of the dangers of electronic blackmail and develop strategies to address it at all levels.
