University of Basra signs memoranda of understanding with oil companies to train and employ students
The University of Basra signed memoranda of understanding with a number of major oil companies, namely Basra Gas Company, Shell, and Mitsubishi, with the aim of enhancing cooperation in the areas of graduate recruitment, student training, and exchange of expertise.
The agreements were signed by the Assistant President of the University of Basra for Administrative Affairs, Dean of the College of Education for Humanities Dr. Haider Khazal Al-Kaabi, and representatives of the companies, in the presence of the Dean of the College of Engineering Dr. Mufid Turki Rashid, and Director of the Rehabilitation and Employment Division Dr. Ghazwan.
The agreements included holding training courses and expanding cooperation programs between the university and oil companies in several colleges, including the College of Education for Humanities, the College of Engineering, the College of Arts, the College of Administration and Economics, and the College of Education for Pure Sciences.
The participants in signing the memoranda stressed the importance of these partnerships in providing practical training opportunities for students, which contributes to developing their professional skills and enhancing their opportunities in the labor market.
