The Pharmacology and Toxicology Branch at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, organized an educational scientific panel discussion actively highlighting the essential (Qualities of a Modern University Professor).
The panel discussion featured a highly valuable lecture delivered by Dr. Muhsin Sagheer Ghalib, in which he discussed several foundational axes, comprehensively including: the core philosophy of university education, defining the modern university professor and their key qualities, and structurally outlining the necessary scientific qualifications.
Furthermore, the lecture thoroughly addressed the vital skills a professor must master to successfully gain the complete trust of the student, deliver the academic curriculum effectively using the latest methodologies, and convey information with high professionalism. These vital skills inherently include: continuous research and development, drafting and posing scientific questions correctly, active listening, solid communication skills with both students and the broader university community, relationship building, and importantly recognizing individual student differences.
