The Women's Affairs Unit in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra organized an awareness seminar on the phenomenon of divorce and its negative effects on the cohesion of the structure of society.
The seminar aimed to shed light on the challenges resulting from divorce and its effects on families and society.
The seminar, presented by a group of lecturers from the department, addressed various aspects of the phenomenon in terms of material and financial reasons and marital compatibility, in addition to addressing the topic of divorce in Islam as a solution to resolve disputes between spouses. The lectures also reviewed the damages resulting from divorce, such as the disintegration of families and the emergence of hostilities.
At the end of the seminar, a number of proposed solutions were addressed to limit the spread of this phenomenon, such as developing marital culture, and enhancing mutual respect and patience between spouses.
