A joint research team at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Basrah University obtained a patent on using natural honey as a preservative, thinner, stabilizer and, colorant for parasite samples.
The Joint patent aimed at using healthy, safe, and natural material in preparing various types of long time parasites as diagnostic educational slides easy to use by researchers.
The joint patent, which granted by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control Unit of the Ministry of Planning, took more than one year and a half of working in the laboratories of Basrah University.
It is worth mentioning that the joint research team included the faculty members at the University of Basrah Dr. Ghazi Yaqoub Azzail, Dr. Suzan AbdِAlJabbar AbdAlaziz, and the researcher, Mr. Sajjad Saleem Sooud.
