The master's thesis in the Department of History / College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra discussed the Arab-Israeli conflict in the memoirs of Iraqi and Egyptian politicians and military personnel 1947-1967 by the student Wasan Karim Assaf. The thesis presented by the student Wasan Karim Assaf aims to answer the following questions: Did the personal memoirs give a clear picture of the nature of the Arab-Israeli conflict and what was the position of the heads of Arab states towards it? Did the memoirs actually reveal what happened? Or did they deviate from the truth? Did they contain contradictions? What were the positions of politicians and military personnel towards the events of the Arab-Israeli conflict? The thesis concluded that the memoirs provided an important vision of the conflict, as they revealed the Arabs' rejection of the 1947 partition resolution, and the weakness of military planning and coordination that led to repeated defeats. It also showed the impact of political differences and competition between Arab regimes on the unity of the ranks. It also emphasized the failure of Arab leaders to estimate the strength of "Israel", and making ill-considered decisions and entering the war without sufficient preparation, in addition to the weakness of the internal front and the lack of trust between peoples and leaders. The Arabs lacked an effective media compared to Israel, which affected their international support
