Within the framework of the Council of Ministers initiative and the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah participated in cooperation with the Department of Diwan Affairs in the national afforestation campaign, in support of environmental efforts and enhancing green spaces within the university campus.
The campaign included planting a group of shrubs in the university gardens, with the aim of improving the university environment and contributing to reducing pollution. The center's administration stressed the importance of these activities in spreading environmental awareness and promoting the culture of afforestation, noting the university's continued adoption of initiatives that support environmental sustainability
