The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra organized an electronic scientific symposium on the phenomenon of addiction among adolescent youth and its psychological and physiological effects.
The symposium aimed to shed light on the psychological and physiological effects of drug addiction on adolescent youth.
The symposium, presented by lecturers Banin Saywan Al-Halfi and Suha Abdul Rahim Al-Rikabi, explained the concept of addiction, its psychological and physiological effects, and methods of prevention and treatment of this scourge. The symposium emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the dangers of addiction and taking preventative measures to limit its spread among young people.
The symposium is part of the awareness campaign supervised by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Presidency of the University of Basra. The aim is to raise community awareness of the harms of drugs to individuals and society, and to emphasize the need for concerted efforts to combat this dangerous phenomenon within university circles
