University of Basra Continues Afforestation and Planting Campaign to Enhance Green Spaces
The College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra continued its afforestation and planting campaign in the college's gardens and grounds as part of ongoing efforts to enhance green spaces and preserve the environment. The campaign, which was supervised by the Dean of the College, Dr. Haider Khazal Al-Kaabi, saw the planting of numerous fruit and ornamental trees in the college's gardens and grounds, contributing to an improved campus environment.
This campaign is part of the "National Afforestation Day" activities, which aims to protect vegetation and encourage agriculture in various regions. It is also part of the national initiative launched by the Prime Minister, which aims to plant millions of trees and palm trees across Iraq. It is also part of the plan of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Presidency of the University of Basra to enhance environmental awareness, expand green spaces, and spread the culture of afforestation and environmental awareness in universities and educational institutions.
