University of Basrah Organizes an Awareness Workshop Titled "Iraqi Oral and Dental Health Week"

The Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Administration and Economics, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah and the Basrah Health Department, organized an educational workshop on Tuesday, 25/3/2025, to mark Iraqi Oral and Dental Health Week. The workshop, presented by Dr. Ola Hamid Abbas, was supervised by an integrated medical team from the Basrah Health Department for Oral and Dental Health.
The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of oral and dental health and help prevent diseases such as tooth decay and gingivitis. Oral and dental problems can affect physical and mental health. Oral and dental health also helps improve self-confidence, as oral and dental problems can affect facial appearance and smile.
Finally, the workshop recommended the importance of maintaining oral hygiene, avoiding sugary foods, which can lead to tooth decay, and conducting regular dental checkups.
