A doctoral thesis was discussed at the College of Science at the University of Basra, titled "Preparation and Characterization of Antimonite Zn-Sb2 Compounds (Eu1-xYbxZn2Sb2, YbCd2-xZnxSb2 & YbZn2-xMnxSb2) for Thermoelectric Applications.The aim of the thesis was to prepare and characterize these compounds to improve their performance in thermoelectric applications.The thesis, presented by researcher Ibrahim Majeed Jassim, studied the thermoelectric properties of three antimonate compounds with a zn-phase, doped with various elements (Zn, Cd, and Mn), with the aim of improving their efficiency in thermal energy conversion.The composites were prepared in the laboratory using microwave solidification, which reduced the preparation time to only 10 minutes. The effect of different doping ratios on the thermoelectric properties of the composites was also evaluated, enabling the identification of the best compositions for enhanced performance.The study concluded that the preparation of Zantel composites using microwave technology was successful, enhancing the potential for adopting this method in the development of thermoelectric materials in the future.
