Under the kind patronage of the president of the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Mohannad Jawad Kazim, under the supervision of the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Nasser Samari Jafar, and with the support of the head of the Department of audio and visual arts, Assistant Prof. Dr. Qusay Abdul Abbas, the University of Basra shines with the lenses of its creative students in the second university Documentary Film Festival, where the covenant is renewed with light, with the camera, with the story told in the language of cinema.
From April 9 to 10, 2025, at eleven o'clock in the morning, the theater of the Faculty of Arts opens its doors to witness a new breakthrough towards the horizons of creativity. The cameras will rotate, the lenses will capture, and the scenes will convey to us voices that were faint, and tales that were waiting for the picture to tell. On the grounds of the Bab Al-Zubair colleges complex, documentary cinema lovers will gather to celebrate films made by promising minds and student hands who like to capture the truth and embody it with a deep artistic vision.
From the heart of the student experience, these creators come out to make films that carry the pulse of the street, the passion for research, the amazement of discovery. Stories from reality, come to life, open new windows of vision, and establish a student film movement that bears the imprint of Basra and its unique artistic identity. Students write a new chapter in the process of University creativity.
