
Dentistry College Basra University held a symposium entitled "Terrorism and Extremism: Causes and Consequences," in cooperation with the Shiite Endowment Office/General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein.
The symposium began with a vital and urgent topic, reflecting the rapid developments and escalating challenges of recent years in our region. It was addressed with focus, seriousness, and depth, in line with global efforts to combat extremism and terrorism, which have become a global, transnational threat.
The symposium aims to support the efforts of the education sector to make it an integral and pivotal component in confronting extremist ideology and the plots of the forces of evil and darkness, which relentlessly attempt to infiltrate educational institutions in the region and infect the minds and hearts of our children and the apple of our eyes, the youth.
In conclusion, Mr. Hassoun Latif Abdullah and His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed Jaafar Mohammed addressed several topics, including extremism, the imbalance between religion and science, the educational, cultural, and intellectual project emanating from the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, and confronting the terrorist project through family interactions.
