A master's thesis at the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basra examined the mechanisms of word interpretation in the book "Ma'ani al-Qur'an" (The Meanings of the Qur'an) by Muhammad ibn al-Mustanir Qutrub (d. 206 AH).
The aim of the thesis, submitted by student Ghufran Ibrahim Hashim Muhammad al-Mansouri, was to shed light on the most important mechanisms or methods used by Qutrub to interpret Qur'anic linguistic terms by collecting, investigating, and processing them from his book "The Meanings of the Qur'an and the Interpretation of the Problematic Syntax of the Qur'an."
The thesis included the most important findings of the study, including Qutrub's word interpretation mechanism from the phonetic and etymological perspectives, Qutrub's word interpretation mechanism from the phonetic perspective, Qutrub's word interpretation mechanism from the etymological perspective, and Qutrub's word interpretation mechanism based on the documentary aspect. It also embodied the most important argumentative methods Qutrub used to support his interpretation of Qur'anic terms and the contexts of the Qur'anic text
