The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a seminar on the use of vertical flow constructed wetlands in wastewater treatment.
The seminar, presented by lecturer Enas Awni Mahdi, aimed to introduce the basic characteristics of wastewater, the advantages of using vertical flow constructed wetlands to treat contaminated water, the most important pollutants they remove, and the mechanisms for removing each pollutant within the treatment system.
The seminar also addressed the most important materials that contribute to improving treatment efficiency and how to use this water for other purposes.
