The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra organized a first aid workshop with the participation of a group of doctors from the Basra Health Department.
The workshop aimed to spread the culture of first aid, increase medical and health awareness among students, and minimize the harmful effects of injuries. It also called for ambulance personnel to transport the injured person as quickly as possible so that they could receive treatment.
The workshop, presented by Professor Sundus Abdul-Wadud and Dr. Ahmed Mustafa Al-Ta'mah, included a theoretical lecture and practical hands-on training on emergency first aid, dealing with choking (partial and complete), and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
