The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra opened its second international conference entitled "The Latest Developments in Modern Dentistry."
The conference was attended by a large number of dignitaries, state figures, and dentists in the hall of the Basra Oil Cultural Center.
The conference included various activities. The opening ceremony began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, the recitation of Surat Al-Fatihah for the souls of Iraq's martyrs, and the playing of the national anthems of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Iraq. The opening ceremony also included an introductory presentation about the conference.
The Dean of the College of Dentistry delivered his speech, in which he discussed the importance of the conference as a pioneering scientific platform aimed at enhancing academic and research cooperation between experts from around the world, enabling the exchange of knowledge and exposure to the latest developments and technologies in the field of dentistry, which contributes to the development of scientific research in Iraq.
The Dean of the College of Dentistry at the University of Basra praised the achievements of the College of Dentistry at the University of Basra, highlighting its academic and research excellence, which reflects Iraq's commitment to quality and leadership in research and education. He stated, "The field of dentistry is witnessing a qualitative leap thanks to innovation in modern technologies. Artificial intelligence and digital medicine have contributed to improving the accuracy of diagnosis and the quality of treatment. Reliance is no longer limited to manual skills, but rather a combination of advanced medical knowledge and modern technology, enhancing the quality of healthcare and contributing to a tangible improvement in the patient experience."
In a speech delivered during the conference, the Dean of the College of Dentistry at Alexandria University emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships and joint cooperation between countries around the world and the University of Basra, praising the vital role the university plays in supporting scientific and professional progress in the field of dentistry. He emphasized that the College of Dentistry prioritizes supporting scientific and research initiatives and opening up to reputable academic institutions, in order to build an integrated scientific environment that contributes to raising the level of health services provided to the community.
The President of the Basra Dentists Syndicate also delivered a speech. The conference's opening remarked on the importance of this scientific event, as it brings together a select group of researchers, academics, and doctors from Iraq and around the world in a scientific gathering aimed at exchanging expertise and keeping pace with the latest developments in the field of dentistry, particularly in the field of dentistry, which has become a fundamental pillar among the subspecialties in this field.
