The History Department at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra organized a discussion session on affliction in the thought of the Imams of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
The session aimed to shed light on the inevitable divine law of affliction, which the Imams of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) employed in word and deed, establishing exemplary behavior.
The session, presented by graduate student Maitham Awda Hussein, addressed the concept of affliction and its significance in the Holy Qur'an, the Prophetic Sunnah (Prophetic tradition), and the sayings of the Imams of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). It also explained the types of affliction, its manifestations, the mechanisms for dealing with affliction, and its worldly and otherworldly effects.
The session demonstrated that the Imams of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) are the perfect example of patience and endurance, setting a good example for the various types of affliction they faced
