The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a seminar on assessing air pollution emitted from some industrial activities in Basra Governorate and the methods used to treat these pollutants.
The seminar, presented by doctoral student Abbas Thajeel Obaid, aimed to assess the levels of pollutants emitted from industrial activities in Basra, identify their sources, study the effectiveness of current treatment methods, and propose ways to improve them to reduce pollution and protect public health and the environment.
The seminar addressed the impacts of oil, petrochemical, and other industries on air quality in Basra, the resulting health and environmental risks, and reviewed some of the technologies used and approved to treat pollutants.
