The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra organized a scientific workshop titled "How to Deal with Oral and Maxillofacial Injuries."
The workshop aimed to train dental graduates on the skills of initial diagnosis and simple treatments that can be provided to patients with oral and maxillofacial injuries they may encounter in the dental clinic.
The workshop, presented by Assistant Professor Sundus Abdul-Wadud from the Oral Surgery Department, covered how to deal with injuries that occur in adults. It explained simple cases that any dentist can handle in their clinic or at a health center. It also provided dentists with important initial steps for some emergency cases that require treatment by a dentist specializing in oral and maxillofacial surgery. These steps must be followed to save the patient's life, and a report was sent to the patient on the procedures taken by the dentist.
