The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah discussed the Master's thesis presented by the researcher Fatima Riyadh Abdul-Razzaq Al-Makki, titled: "The Role of Astaxanthin in Reducing the Damage of the Pesticide Diazinon on the Heart and Liver."
The study addressed the health challenges resulting from exposure to the pesticide "Diazinon" and its toxic effects on heart and liver functions, utilizing an experimental model to demonstrate the extent of damage caused by oxidative stress and intracellular toxin accumulation.

The researcher concluded that "Astaxanthin," a natural pigment extracted from algae with superior antioxidant properties, effectively contributed to repairing damaged tissues and reducing toxicity severity. This opens innovative therapeutic horizons using natural components to counter environmental hazards and pesticides.
