The lecturer Dr. Suhaila Mari Marzouq from the College of Education for Women, History Department, Basra University, participated with a research in the International Conference of the Union of Ancient Near East Civilizations, among the participation of senior scholars and researchers specialized in historical and archaeological studies. The participation included presenting the research entitled "Justice and Peace in Ancient Iraqi Thought".
The researcher tackled justice and peace in ancient Iraqi thought and its great importance for being one of the most important factors in the rise of Iraqi civilization. So, justice was a legal right for every human being within the framework of peace, and they both represent the divine will in light of the values representing the dominant thought in society. Ancient Iraqis saw that the correlation between right and justice is represented by the gods as the god (Anu) the founder of the ruling divine ancestry, which was the source of authority and its guardian.
The participation aimed to view the latest developments and the scientific research related to Mesopotamian civilization and its history, and what scholars of history and archeology have written about.
The researcher recommended that "the professors of Iraq and the University of Basra must participate and actively contribute to scientific conferences in order to highlight the speech of Basri professors in international meetings”.
