A master's thesis in the University of Basrah / College of Medicine discussed the correlation between clinical and biochemical signs of hyperandrogenism in women with female hair loss. The thesis presented by student Sameh Abed Atheeb aims to assess the association between clinical phenotypes of androgenic hypersensitivity and biochemical variables in pre-menopausal women with female hair loss. The thesis concluded that the severity of female hair loss was only related to the clinical signs of hyperandrogenism such as excessive hair growth and acne, and not to the biochemical markers. Additional indicators such as levels of globulin linked to sex hormones, body mass index and HOMA-IR index had no obvious association with the severity of female hair loss.
