A master's thesis at the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basra examined hopeful thinking and its relationship to self-determination among gifted high school students.
The thesis, presented by student Hassan Mansour Abdul Latif, aimed to identify the level of hopeful thinking and self-determination among gifted high school students, and to reveal differences between them according to variables such as gender (male - female), grade (third intermediate - sixth preparatory), and school location (center - periphery). It also examined the nature of the correlation between the two variables.
The thesis concluded that students enjoy a high level of hopeful thinking and self-determination, but there were no significant differences in hopeful thinking based on gender or grade. Differences favored students in central schools compared to periphery schools, and no differences in self-determination based on gender or school location. However, differences favored sixth preparatory students
