The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a workshop on water pollution: causes and treatment methods for members of the Environmental Education and School Health Division of the Basra Education Directorate.
The workshop aimed to introduce water pollutants, their sources, and their harmful effects on human health.
The workshop, presented by Dr. Fadia Mushtaq Salim, a lecturer in the Department of ecology, discussed methods for conserving water and treating polluted water.
The workshop recommended raising awareness among citizens, particularly school students, about rationalizing water consumption and ways to reduce water pollution. The teaching staff also recommended organizing activities for students to convey information in simplified ways.
