The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a workshop titled "A Green World... More Creative Generations."
The workshop aimed to encourage school administrations to prioritize school gardens and hold part of their classes in open spaces within the school or surrounding area. This will motivate students to attend classes and break the constraints of closed classroom environments.
The workshop, presented by Dr. Anfas Nima Akash, a lecturer in the Department of ecology, and attended by the administrative staff of the Basra Governorate Education Department, addressed the importance of a green environment for students' rapid learning.
The workshop recommended integrating agriculture and sustainability classes and involving students from the Department of Environmental Science in holding environmental awareness seminars in schools.
