Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basrah, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazim, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Nawfal Ali Al-Mubarak, the Women's Affairs Unit at the College of Medicine, University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Student Activities Division, held an awareness seminar on cancer diseases in women.
The seminar was presented by Pharmacist Dr. Zainab Qais Muhammad Ali, Head of the Early Detection Unit at the Ministry of Health's Cancer Council. The seminar addressed the most important methods for diagnosing breast and cervical cancer, their prevalence among women, how to conduct periodic examinations, and prevention methods. It also discussed the most prominent effective vaccines. Furthermore, the seminar emphasized the necessity of organizing awareness campaigns regarding the early detection of breast and cervical cancer.
