The Polymer Research Center/University of Basra held a workshop on the role of microorganisms in treating water pollution, presented by Dr. Sanaa Qasim.B.The scientific workshop aimed to understand the role of microorganisms in biotechnology and biological treatment to eliminate, reduce, or mitigate environmental pollution factors. The focus of the workshop was water pollution, given its important role in life. Water is the basis of life for all living organisms and the foundation of vital processes within their cells and all their organs. It is also the basis of all chemical and industrial reactions. The focus was on understanding the capabilities of these microorganisms, given their enzymes capable of decomposing pollutants, either by halting their action or eliminating them.
