The University of Basrah organized a seminar on reservoir pressure analysis in the West Qurna oil field, southern Iraq, at the Faculty of science . The seminar delivered by the researcher Mustafa Abdul Hussein Abdul Hassan aimed at : Modeling and forecasting of closed pressure at the bottom of the well (BHCP) to form the supervisor in the field, including a framework that includes petrophysical assessment, geostatistical interpolation, time series modeling, Monte Carlo simulation, the study included the procedure for deriving BHCP data from the monthly averages for the period between 2010 and 2023, and its forecasts for the years 2024-2030, the actual purpose of the research was to improve pressure maintenance strategies and guide future production and injection plans under the conditions of geological variability and operational constraints, in order to reduce the costs of conducting periodic reservoir pressure checks and proper reservoir management. The results showed that experimental Bayesian (EBK) geostatistical kriging was the most accurate, especially in environments with high heterogeneity. Time series models revealed statistically significant upward trends in pressure values and injection rates after 2014. The Monte Carlo model also achieved high predictive performance by showing spatial prediction maps of pressure stability in the central and near the injected wells, while the decrease continued in isolated or high-production areas.
