The Department of ecology at the College of Science, University of Basra, organized a workshop on wastewater treatment technologies.
The workshop aimed to introduce wastewater, its types, and its main pollutants.
The workshop was presented by Dr. Fadia Mushtaq Salim and Dr. Asia Fadhil Abdullah, faculty members in the Department of Environmental Science at the College of Science.
The workshop addressed wastewater treatment methods and the most important modern, environmentally friendly treatment techniques.
The workshop recommended the necessity of treating wastewater before discharging it into water bodies and the importance of using biological treatment methods, as they are readily available, inexpensive, and do not leave harmful residues in the environment.
