Inas Awni Mahdi, a faculty member in the Department of Ecology at the College of Science, University of Basra, presented a workshop on environmental pollution and its impact on climate change, held at Al-Ashar Girls' School.
The workshop included an explanation of the concept of environmental pollution, its types and sources, and its harmful effects on humans and the environment in general, and on the school environment in particular. It also highlighted the most prominent pollutants to which teachers and students are exposed in the school environment, outlined key activities to raise student awareness of the dangers of pollution, and mentioned best practices that can be implemented to reduce exposure to pollution risks. The workshop was organized in cooperation with the Sports and Scouting Activities Department of the Environmental Education and School Health Division.
