The College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra held its annual evaluation conference for the 2024-2025 academic year. The conference was attended by the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Haider Khazal Al-Kaabi, the Dean of the College, Dr. Wissam Jumaa Lafteh, and a number of deans and faculty members.
The conference aimed to highlight the college's activities during the past academic year, evaluate its academic and administrative performance, and discuss mechanisms for developing academic work in accordance with quality standards and institutional accreditation requirements.
The conference included a detailed presentation of the college's academic and administrative activities, highlighting key achievements and challenges, with a focus on ways to enhance scientific research. During his address, the Vice President for Scientific Affairs emphasized the importance of developing scientific research both quantitatively and qualitatively, and of entering reputable scientific journals. He stressed the need for clear strategic plans that contribute to enhancing the university's academic standing, while also commending the College of Education for Humanities for its efforts and academic excellence.
For his part, the Dean of the College, Dr. Wissam Jumaa Lafteh, explained that the conference aims to conduct a thorough critical review of the college's outputs, scrutinizing them for evaluation and assessment. This will help identify weaknesses and shortcomings, address them, and reinforce strengths, ultimately improving the outcomes of the educational and research processes within the college.
