The College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra hosted the renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ali Reza Panahian, in coordination with the Iranian Cultural Center. This event was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen scientific and cultural cooperation between the University of Basra and Iranian cultural institutions.
Sheikh Panahian delivered a lecture titled "Stimulating Societal Awareness and Positive Change from a Rational Religious Perspective," attended by the Dean of the College, Dr. Wissam Jumaa Lafteh, and a number of faculty members and students.
The lecture emphasized that the primary objective of the Prophet's mission was to preserve human dignity, strengthen the connection with God, and establish a societal system based on Islamic law and teachings.
Sheikh Panahian also highlighted the importance of the Arba'een pilgrimage in reinforcing the values of human dignity and social solidarity, noting the media blackout surrounding this pilgrimage due to its conflict with certain prevailing Western ideologies.
