Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basrah, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazem, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basrah, Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab, the College of Nursing at the University of Basrah held the International Scientific Conference entitled "Antibiotic Resistance and Infection Control," in collaboration with health and academic institutions to discuss the challenges of antibiotic resistance and infection control strategies.
The conference witnessed a wide attendance of elite researchers, doctors, and nursing staff, along with distinguished international participation from experts outside Iraq from Oman, Egypt, Kuwait, Iran, Bahrain, Syria, and Jordan, aiming to formulate a scientific vision to confront epidemic risks and develop the healthcare system.
The President of the University of Basrah, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazem Al-Asadi, stated during his opening speech: "Today, the university renews its national responsibility to support serious scientific research and utilize knowledge to serve the community. Knowledge is not a luxury but a responsibility and a trust to protect citizens’ lives."
