The Student Activities Unit at the College of Education for Humanities, University of Basra, held a cultural event commemorating the martyrdom of the Victory Leaders and the martyrs of the Popular Mobilization Forces. The event was attended by the Dean of the College, Dr. Wissam Jumaa Lafteh, along with a number of faculty members and students.
The event aimed to remember the Victory Leaders and highlight their role in the struggle against ISIS, as well as the sacrifices they made in defense of the homeland and to preserve its security and stability.
The event included a lecture entitled "The Significance of Martyrdom from the Perspective of the Holy Quran and the Noble Prophetic Tradition," presented by Dr. Murtadha Jawad Awad. In his lecture, Dr. Awad discussed the concept of martyrdom, its religious and humanitarian significance, and its role in establishing the values of sacrifice, justice, and defending the truth. He also highlighted the martyrs' significant role in the struggle and their unwavering commitment to their faith and principles.
The event also featured the recitation of several poems expressing gratitude for the martyrs' sacrifices and commemorating their patriotic stances
