The Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems at the College of Arts, University of Basrah, organized a specialized training course that dealt with topics in environmental health, which was dedicated to the college’s employees, and lasted for three days, in the department environmental laboratory.
The course lectures were presented by Dr. Amal Saleh (specializing in geography), Professor Zuhair Ghazi, and Ms. Alaa, who specializes in soil science. The course included a theoretical and practical curriculum aimed at developing the participants’ skills and enhancing their abilities in using environmental analysis tools.
The course included an introductory lecture on environmental diseases and their causes, and the impact of environmental factors on their spread, as well as an introduction to soil, its properties and methods of analyzing its elements, in addition to practical training on laboratory equipment for analyzing environmental elements.
This course aims to train and develop participants and enable them to deal with modern technologies and tools in the field of environmental analysis, thereby contributing to raising the level of health and environmental awareness within the institution
