The Guidance Unit at the College of Education for Humanities, University of Basra, in cooperation with the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, organized a scientific seminar on the impact of psychological and hormonal factors on weight management, and the role of emotional stress and negative thinking in burning and storing fat. The seminar was attended by the Dean of the College, Dr. Wissam Jumaa Lafteh, and a number of professors and students.
The seminar aimed to raise awareness of the importance of integrating mental health, physical activity, and proper nutrition in weight management and improving overall health.
The seminar, moderated by Dr. Zahraa Saleh Al-Saidi and lecturer Tabarak Saeed Yaqoub, addressed the relationship between psychological and hormonal factors and physical activity, the impact of psychological stress and negative thinking on an individual's eating habits and ability to control weight, and how to alleviate psychological stress and modify negative thinking patterns
