Master's Thesis | Pharmacy College Media:
The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah discussed a Master's thesis titled: "Extraction and Isolation of some Alkaloids from some Wild Poppy species in Iraq and Evaluating their Biological Activity."
The study, presented by student Haider Abdul-Amir Kased, involved collecting and classifying four wild poppy species across Iraq. The research successfully isolated the rare alkaloid Roemerine and evaluated its potent antioxidant activity through advanced laboratory assays.

This research provides clinical insights into utilizing Roemerine as a natural antioxidant with potential applications in combating antibiotic-resistant bacteria and enhancing anti-cancer therapies, highlighting the college's role in pioneering academic pharmacological research.
