The Department of Arabic Language at the College of Education for Humanities, University of Basra, organized a scientific seminar entitled "Linguistic Discourse Analysis: Paths and Approaches," attended by a number of faculty members and researchers.
The seminar aimed to present a modern perspective on linguistic discourse analysis, highlight the most prominent contemporary issues in this field of knowledge, and discuss its methodological mechanisms and applications in modern linguistic and critical studies.
The seminar included scholarly lectures presented by Dr. Khalid Naeem Shanawa, Dr. Murtadha Abbas Falih, and researcher Ahmed Khairi Abdul Zahra, which addressed the concept of discourse analysis and its practical procedures, along with an explanation of the most important methodologies adopted in its study.
The seminar also discussed discourse analysis from the perspective of audience rhetoric, revealing its pragmatic pathways and procedures in modern linguistic studies, while emphasizing the importance of utilizing contemporary approaches in understanding discourse and analyzing its structure and meanings
