The forum aimed to highlight the phenomenon of domestic violence, identify its causes, and explore ways to prevent it, as well as mechanisms for legal, educational, and psychological treatment.
The forum addressed several important themes, including the legal aspect related to legislation and procedures for dealing with cases of violence, the educational and psychological aspect examining the effects on individuals and families, and the human rights aspect, in addition to the role of civil society organizations in reducing the phenomenon and raising community awareness.
The forum resulted in an agreement to form a joint working group from the participating entities to prepare a comprehensive survey to investigate the phenomenon of domestic violence and diagnose its causes and manifestations. It was also agreed to discuss the study's findings at a subsequent forum to which relevant and responsible community stakeholders would be invited. Furthermore, workshops, seminars, and lectures targeting various segments of society will be held, based on the study's findings.
